Volkswagen Tiguan India Launch At 2014 Auto Expo
Volkswagen India is planning to launch Volkswagen Tiguan in India at Auto Expo 2014. VW will be aiming to bring the car via the CKD route and assembling it locally but it might want to tread carefully and may bring it through the CBU route initially.
Tiguan is based on the PQ35 platform, same platform is also shared by Audi Q3 and Jetta. Tiguan will be offered in two engine options, petrol and diesel. The petrol engine will be a 1.4 TSI that churns out 130Bhp, diesel engine is available in two tuned engine that churns out 140Bhp and 170Bhp.
The engine will be mated to a six speed manual as well as automatic DSG gearbox. The Car is expected to be priced at Rs 15-20 lakh and compete with the cars like BMW X1, Skoda Yeti and Honda CR-V.
