Volkswagen’s New Jetta Comes to India in February
Volkswagon will be introducing a new face lifted version of its D-segment sedan, the Volkswagen Jetta in Indian showrooms on February 17, 2015.
While the overall body and features of the Jetta remains unchanged, some primary changes includes a new grille, new bumpers and fog lights. Bi-xenon headlights and Daytime Running Lamps are set up on either side of the grille. It will get a remolded bumper with larger air drum and LED taillights. Meanwhile, the interiors of the car features an upgraded centre console with a touchscreen infotainment system and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, just like the ones in the new Polo and Vento.
While most of the changes are superficial, the engine remains the same – a 1.4-litre TSI petrol mill and 2.0-litre TDI. There will be an option for manual gearbox or a DSG automatic transmission.
The facelifted Jetta is expected to be priced marginally higher than the current model with an estimated starting price of Rs 15 lakh. The car will compete against the likes of Chevrolet Cruze, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra, and others.
