BMW M4 Coupe and M3 Saloon Slated for a November Release in India
BMW India just announced the launch of the 2015 Mini hatch in India, now it will add two more cars to its M range before year end. The two new additions include fifth-generation of the iconic high-performance sports car from the BMW M series – the M3 saloon and M4 coupe. They will be launched in India on 26th November. It’s for the first time that Coupe and Saloon get individual model names.
The new M3 saloon can be pitted against the likes of Audi RS5 and Mercedes C63, AMG. It gets a beast inside – a M TwinPower Turbo 3.0 litre inline six cylinder petrol engine, which can dish out 431bhp along with 550Nm of torque. It comes with a seven-speed DCT transmission, and goes from 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph.
It also comes loaded with a host of safety equipment such as drive assist, speed limit info, heads up display with M-specific.
The other vehicle slated for a launch is the M4 coupe. Both vehicles are rather similar, except for the added passenger space the M3 offers. It shares the same dimensions, however M3 is slightly higher and heavier than the M4. Internal mechanicals are the same as that of the M3 with the same set of engines, suspension and other features.
With the high use of lightweight materials, a weight loss of 80kgs has been achieved on both the models to maximise handling and fuel efficiency. With the high use of lightweight materials, both models are now equipped with a carbon-fibre reinforced plastic roof.
