Top 5 Car Ads of 2014 That Nailed it
Advertising has been a huge part of the Automobile industry since the heyday. With automobile giants like Volkswagen, Honda, Mercedes spending millions and billions to advertise themselves, the final product can turn out to be mindblowing. While all of these ads are amazing, some of them will always stay in your memory.
We are listing top 5 automobile ads of this season that are amazing.
5. Honda “Hands”
Honda’s ‘Hands’ campaign was a huge hit and probably one the most successful ones too. The campaign got over three million YouTube hits in just four days. Honda aimed to demonstrate the broad range of its products, including everything from lawnmowers to airplanes and traditional family minivans.
4. Chevrolet “Maddie”
The ad tells a story of a girl and her golden retriever, ‘Maddie’. It begins with Maddie and her owner at the vet, and proceeds to show the time they spent together over the years in reverse chronological order all the way up to when the owner first picked Maddie out of a litter of puppies. The commercial is for the Chevrolet Equinox and shows how much like a dog, a car can be a partner for life as well. But be warned, if you’re a dog owner, this ad might be a bit of a tear jerker.
3. Volkswagen “Wings”
This was Volkswagen’s 2014 Super Bowl ad. The ad based on the “every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings” line from the Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life, translates into purchase bells ringing at dealerships. This means that every time a VW hits 100,000 miles, a German engineer gets his wings. This ad is one of the most clever ads by Volkswagen.
2. Chevy Silverado “Romance”
This one is also 2014 Super Bowl hit. A rugged-looking gentleman takes a bull on a road trip. The ad seems like a super-serious dose of farmland and Americana until they cue the music, which is Hot Chocolate’s “You Sexy Thing.” Chevrolet weaves American cultural fabric into an all time classic melody. We love it and you will too.
1. Jaguar “Rendezvous”
Okay, this is the first ever Super Bowl ad by Jaguar. And boy! it’s amazing. The slick ad to launch the F-Type Coupe was dubbed “Rendezvous” and directed by Tom Hooper, and featured Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong. It is one of the most cinematic Super Bowl commercials we have seen in a while. This action packed and huge budget commercial features jets, helicopters, chasing down London streets, and of course prominent footage of the beautiful Jaguar F-Type Coupe. The villains calmly navigate their separate adventurous commutes to a villainous rendezvous, all well-dressed, with stiff upper lips, and the typical British calm.
