Land Rover Launched Limited Edition ‘Defender Africa’
Land Rover, a subsidiary of the British Car Manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, launched the limited Defender Africa edition. Its a super rugged version of the current generation.
The Defender is one of those vehicles which can boldly travel to places where no other car has gone before. The company said it will make only 50 of these amazing machines, which will be available worldwide. It features a black paint job combined with a bright red roof, which Land Rover says has been inspired by Africa.
It comes finished in ‘Santorini black’ and features black seat covers with red piping. It also gets black alloy wheels and a Bluetooth connection. Other features include a snorkel, roof rack, rear step and a front protection bar, but all these come as optional equipment.
Offered as Defender 90 and Defender 110 models, the Africa Edition is powered by the familiar 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration takes 15.8 seconds, while the top speed reaches 145 km/h (90 mph).
The British-based automaker said the model is part of celebrating the 67 years of ‘travelling where no other vehicle has travelled before’. The pricing details have not yet been released.
The Defender is easily given away down by hand and repaired The 90 comes with a soft-top and a station wagon model whereas the 110 only comes with a motorcar.
