2014 Honda City Launch on Jan 7, 2014

Honda will officially launch the 2014 Honda City on January 7 in Delhi. Honda City will be launched in three variants- petrol, CVT petrol and Diesel. The bookings have already started, but pricing and other details will be announced at the launch.

It is powered by the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine which was used in Amaze, that churns out 100Bhp@3600rpm and 200Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with optimised gear ratios. It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 12.8 sec and a top speed of 163kmph. The company claimed the fuel economy of 26kmpl.

It is expected to be priced at  Rs 8.5 lakh for the base petrol manual to Rs 11 lakh for the fully loaded VX diesel (both prices ex-showroom). It will be competing with the cars like Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Jetta.
