2014 Kawasaki Z1000 bookings start in India, bike arrives in December
2014 Kawasaki Z1000 was revealed at EICMA 2013 and Kawasaki India is accepting pre-orders, though officially the booking will open in the first week of December. Kawasaki is preparing to sell its latest Naked superbike Z1000. The Z1000 is expected to be priced at Rs 12.5 lakh.
Kawasaki is already selling there flagship superbikes ZX-10r the hypertourer and ZX-14r the muscular superbike in India. The Z1000 is powered by a 1043cc inline four cylinder engine which churns out 140Bhp and 110Nm of torque. Kawasaki says that they have made changes to the engine by adding a new intake cam setup which at low revs boosts the power. Then there is the better breathing and more vocal airbox as also new passages in the engine to cut pumping losses. Shorter final gearing and a taller sixth gear are the changes in the transmission.
2014 Z1000 is lighter than the previous version and the tank size is also increased form 15 to 17 litre. The Z1000 also comes with ABS as standard but in previous version it was an option. The Z1000 will be competing with the bikes like Hyosung GT650 N, Ducati Monster 1200 and Honda CB1000R.
