Aston Martin Joins Hands with Faraday Future for New Electric Vehicle
It was at CES last month where an almost unknown company called Faraday Future, in partnership with LeEco, brought out a showstopping electric concept. Faraday Future, or FF as they like to be called, since then has made itself noticed by the really big names in the automotive world. Now, Aston Martin has shaken hands with LeEco and FF to create a new all-electric Aston called the “RapidE” — a take on the brand’s Rapide four-door sedan.
According to Aston Martin, the partnership has the “potential for adding a range of next-generation connected electric vehicles on behalf of Aston Martin, LeEco and Faraday Future,” read the company’s press release.
Apart from being electric, the RapidE will be a smart, connected and ‘socialized’ vehicle. Aston Martin hasn’t clearly defined what it means by ‘socialized’, but we feel it’s somewhere connected to being a connected vehicle.
If you’ve been keeping track with recent news then you’ll know that Porsche, Aston Martin, and Bentley are among those entering the all-electric luxury sedan market. The decision behind Aston Martin joining forces with FF isn’t surprising seeing as how both saw each other at the CES with Aston Martin unveiling the Autolink Rapide S and FF unveiling the FFZERO1.
If you look yet a little further back, you’ll realize that it was Tesla who started the whole EV trend that is set to create a brand new competition in the automotive world.
