Jaguar XE Launched at Auto Expo 2016
Tata Motors-owned Jaguar today launched the all-new Jaguar XE sports saloon in India at the ongoing Auto Expo in Delhi. The Jaguar XE comes with a starting price of Rs 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be assembled in India to increase localization.
The sports saloon will be available in two petrol engine options with 200PS of power and 320Nm of peak torque engine priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and 240PS of power output and 340Nm of peak torque for the turbocharged 2.0-litre variant priced at Rs 46.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the company said.
The Jaguar XE is modelled on an all-new monocoque platform made of 75 percent lightweight aluminium which keeps the vehicle’s weight quite low. The vehicle is capable of moving from 0-100 kmph in 7.7 seconds on petrol and 7.8 seconds on diesel. The top speed is capped at 228 km/hr for petrol and 237 km/hr for diesel.
The interiors feature body hugging front seats, large centre console and dual tone finish. On the tech front ,you find new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, navigation, head-up display unit, 825W Meridian audio system with 17 speakers.
Rohit Suri, president of Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said, “The most-awaited Jaguar XE has hit the Indian roads today with its powerful stance and seductive looks. To meet the growing demand for petrol-powered vehicles, we have introduced the Jaguar XE in two petrol engine derivatives. This will also enable us to enter a new industry segment and make Jaguar more accessible to our customers.”
Bookings for the Jaguar began last month and delivery will commence immediately after launch.
