Auto Expo 2016: 3rd-Gen Hyundai Tucson Unveiled in India
Hyundai today showcased the new Tucson SUV to eager fans gathered at its pavilion at the Auto Expo, 2016. The third-generation Tucson will soon make its way to India after Hyundai chose to not bring the previous generation of the vehicle to India.
The Tuscon, Hyundai’s new premium compact SUV bridges the gap between the Creta and the Santa Fe in Hyundai’s Indian SUV line-up. The car falls in line with the company’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (FS2.0) design philosophy and features a lot of the design scheme of its bigger sibling.
At the front end of the Tuscon the car features the company’s signature hexagonal grille, swept back LED head-lamps, and LED DRLs. It features i20-inspired boomerang shaped tail-lamps, black plastic cladding around the body adding to the Tucson’s sporty design profile.
Hyundai Tucson is 4475mm long, 1665mm high, 1850mm wide with a wheelbase of 1655mm. It will come equipped with is a 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission to churn out maximum power output of 175bhp and 402Nm. The vehicle could be offered with both a 4×2 and 4×4 upon its launch.
