Lexus LC 500 is a Jaw Dropping 467-Hp Luxury Coupe
The Detroit Auto Show has officially kicked off and the first day has already seen some show stealers. One of them is undeniably the Lexus LC 500 coupe. The 467-horespower beauty of a Lexus is production-ready and is ready to make its mark in a big way in the Luxury segment.
Powering the Lexus LC 500 is a 5-liter V-8 with 467 horsepower and an industry-first 10-speed automatic. The torque isn’t quite at par given the size of the engine, delivering 389 lb-ft at a rather high 4,800 RPM.
The car will be known by its six-figure number, being priced at $100,000. However, a new 10-speed automatic, carbon fibre in the door structure and optional carbon fibre for the roof, all justify the expensive price tag.
The design of the LC 500 is quite simply bold. Lexus has crafted the vehicle with impressive broad front and back that look intimidating yet beautiful all at once. The lines along the vehicle are neat and sharp. The brand’s distinct front jagged grille compliments the wide bodied car.
Lexus says that the LC 500 will be in showrooms next year. The coupe will likely challenge the the Mercedes-Benz S-class coupe and the BMW 6-series coupe once it comes out in 2017.
