BMW Launches the M6 Gran Coupe in India
German carmaker BMW launched the new M6 Gran Coupe in India for a price tag of Rs. 1.71 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). It is an updated version of the outgoing model and comes with new LED headlamps, updated tail lamps as well as a slightly altered grille.
The M6 Gran Coupe is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 motor, which is capable of a 0-100kmph run in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. It also comes with a start-stop technology which gives a fuel efficiency of 10.10 kmpl. “The M6 Gran Coupe has already set a new benchmark with the flawless balance of power, dynamics, comfort and luxury that is typical of M models. The M6 Gran Coupe is poised to write a fresh chapter in this success story, fuelled by a perfect symbiosis of motorsport DNA and exclusivity. It reinstates the leadership of BMW M GmbH in the high-performance luxury segment,” said BMW Group India president Philipp von Sahr.
The exterior of the M6 Gran Coupe has beautifully sculpted front wings and exclusively sculpted M light-allowed wheels. Another feature is the ultra-lightweight carbon roof. The latest M cockpit technology has striking features such as the multi-function M leather steering wheel. Other features of the M6 Gran Coupe include six air bags, Active M Differential, M Dynamic Damper Control, M Dynamic mode, M Compound Brakes, and Active Control.
Along with the launch of the M6 Gran Coupe, BMW also opened its first-ever M studio showroom in Santacruz, Mumbai. The M studio is the first of six studios the company plans on opening in India by the end of 2016.
