Honda Launches Sports Bike CBR 650F in India
In an attempt to push the sales of high performance motorbikes in India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter launched its sports bike, the CBR 650F, today, along with showcasing the new 160cc bike, CB Hornet 160R and CBR 150R models that will be launched later this year. The CBR 650R was launched at Honda’s RevFest 2015 event that is being held at eight cities simultaneously (New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Indore and Bangalore).
The fully faired CBR650F is powered by a 649cc liquid cooled, inline four cylinder engine cradled by a twin-spar steel frame. Maximum power is rated at 87PS @ 11,000 rpm while maximum torque stands at 62Nm. The engine, which also employs Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI), is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks up front and a mono shock with spring-preload adjustability at the rear. The brakes include 320mm discs with twin-piston callipers up front and a 240mm disc with a single-piston calliper at the back.
The company is building the CBR 650F in India. It also said that, as part of Honda extending the MotoGP association with Italian apparel maker GAS, a limited edition of GAS-Honda biking clothes and accessories would be launched in the country soon.
The sports bike is priced at Rs 7,30,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 7,60,970 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It is also the first of the 15 products that Honda plans to release this year.
