Audi’s New TT Clubsport Turbo Experiments With a New Engine to Make it Push to 600hp
Audi has been hitting the limelight this year quite occasionally, from announcing its increase in global sales by 6.1% this quarter, thereby registering its increase in sales for the 63rd month in a row. Or maybe, its plans to launch ten new cars in India this year alone, starting off with the new Audi TT. The new Audi TT coupe was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show and was bought to the Indian shores on 23rd April. As these were not enough for the year, Audi has decided to launch its all new variant of the TT Coupe at Austria’s annual Worthersee Tour tuning fest this month.
The new TT have been named as the TT Clubsport Turbo. It somewhat resembles the TT RS, just bottled up with a higher level of power. The engines is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged, capable of pushing up to 600hp and 470 ft-lb of torque, that is delivered to all-wheels from 3000rpm-7000rpm. This results in reaching 0-100kmph in a mere 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 310kmph. This car is extracting so much power because along with direct fuel injection and larger turbocharger, Audi engineers have also added an electric motor that help provide boots to lower revs.
Meanwhile, on the insides, the Clubsports TT is fitted with a titanium roll cage with four-point belts. Most of the dashboard has remained unchanged, apart from the steering wheel, buttons for starting the engine, driving mode adjustment, stability control system, all borrowed from the R8. The concept car also includes carbon-ceramic brakes and an adjustable carbon-coil suspension.
