New Mclaren 675LT: More Power, More Downforce, More Roar
With the recent unveiling of the Porsche Cayman GT4 still reverberating in our ears, Mclaren seems desperate not be left out and has released more details about its latest supercar. The new Mclaren 675LT will be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The most notable change though is not its insane 666bhp power delivery, but rather the increased amount of downforce. The 675’s ‘Long Tail’ also acts as a bigger active airbreak at the rear, which the company claims combines with “dramatically enhanced styling” for optimised aerodynamics, giving 40 percent more downforce than the 650S.
In addition, the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 has undergone a complete overhaul for the 675LT, featuring light weight components coupled with a new turbo design significantly bolsters the power. In addition, engineers have also cut down the overall kerbweight of the car. For instance, a new exhaust system has been formed from titanium, sporting larger circular pipes. Mclaren claims this gives the 675LT an “electrifying, engaging and visceral” drive.
Meanwhile, the company hasn’t revealed its plans of the number of units it plans to build, though we’ll get to know more about this roaring machine during its unveiling in Geneva.
