Nissan’s Front-Wheel Drive GT-R LM Nismo Unveiled

Japanese car maker Nissan has revealed its revolutionary hybrid racer – the new GT-R LM Nismo. The Le Mans sports car was unveiled using a Super Bowl television advert.

The new GT-R LM Nismo packs a 3 litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which sits in the front of the chassis ahead of the driver. Power is channeled through the drivetrain via a five speed sequential gearbox with hydraulic limited slip differential.

The car’s gross weight is about 880 kgs, and comes with carbon composite body panels and a polycarbonate windscreen along with an adjustable rear wing on its back.

The Nisan GT-R LM Nismo will take part in the LM P1 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship starting April 12 at Silverstone UK. It is also expected to take part at Spa, Le Mans and Nurburgring.
