Swift Gets a Music Inspired Limited Edition Variant
It’s nice to see Indian automakers launching a special edition variant from time to time. And this time around its one of the popular hatchbacks in the Indian market – the Maruti Suzuki Swift that gets a limited edition variant called ‘Windsong’. As the name suggests, the Windsong Swift is a music themed add-on for the updated Swift. We saw Maruti doing something similar earlier with the launch of its Alto ‘musiK’ edition.
Apparently targeted at youth and audiophiles, the limited edition Swift Windsong is available only in the mid-level VXi and VDi trims and comes in a pearl white paint job only. The limited edition Swift now sports new music-themed body graphics on the sides along with black racing stripes running across the front hood and the roof. Other changes include a new wheel cover design and a rear spoiler.
Meanwhile, interiors have been given a completely new look and feel with black & yellow seats and steering wheel, along with blue ambient lighting for the floor. In addition, there is an illuminated door sill guard, badged floor mats and a new Sony touchscreen unit with SIRI eyes-free compatibility for iPhone. There are no changes made under the hood, and the Maruti Swift Windsong Limited Edition gets the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol motor and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 2015 Maruti Swift Windsong Limited Edition VXi is priced at Rs. 5,14,973 while the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 6,10,246. ( all prices ex-showroom, New Delhi)
