Mercedes-Benz Plans to Introduce 15 New Cars in India This Year
Mercedes-Benz has some really good news for its Indian fan base. The German luxury carmaker announced that it will be bringing in 15 new products this year exclusively for India.
The company made an official statement saying, “Mercedes-Benz will introduce 15 products in 2015, including products with no predecessors in India. These new products are Mercedes-Benz India’s biggest product initiative till date.” With this move, the company aims to retain its loyal customers along with reaching new aspiring buyers. According to the company, all products will come in rich variants and priced right.
The company made a statement, “Mercedes-Benz India will continue its aggressive strategy in its operations as well with an additional investment for capacity expansion in the Chakan Plant, taking the total investment to over Rs 1,000 crore.” With the extended facility, the plant’s capacity will swell to 20,000 units per year. Also, the company is planning to set up 15 new outlets across the country to help reach more people.
The Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India Eberhard Kern commented, “Enriched product portfolio, future-ready operations, best customer experience, enhanced touch points and efforts to be a responsible corporate citizen will be the catalysts in propelling the company towards its objective.”
However, there is no information about what all cars are going to launch, estimate indicates that the company will release different variants of C-class sedan, B-class facelift, new facelift model of E-class cabriolet, CLA-Class compact sedan, New GLC-Class compact-SUV (competitor of BMW X3 and Audi Q5), MLC-Class coupe-SUV and few more. The competitor of BMW X6, the MLC-Class coupe-SUV, is expected to launch soon.
If the manufacturing giant touches its goal of producing 20,000 units per year, it will be the highest ever by any brand in India.
