Mahindra Unleashes the New Scorpio 4+ with ABS and EBD
Mahindra India has announced a new variant of Scorpio – the new S4+. The new variant comes preloaded with additional safety features including dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), seat belt reminder along with electronic brake-force distribution system (EBD).
Apart from the above-mentioned features, the Scorpio S4+ also gets follow-me-home headlamps. In addition, it gets the rear wheel drive system. On the outside, the S4+ comes with black bumpers, and plastic cladding door handles along with steel wheel rims. Other high-end variants come with body-coloured bumpers and alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the Scorpio S4+ is powered by a 2.2 litre turbocharged four cylinder diesel engine capable of churning out 122PS and 280Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is mated to the engine while 4-wheel drive can be switched manually through the switchgear.
The announcement of the Scorpio 4+ is a positive move from the company, as all the enhanced safety features will be available on entry level 4-wheel drive variant. We can expect the Scorpio S4+ to come at Rs.40,000-45,000 over the standard S4 4X4 variant.
