Audi Introduces Sporty A3 Cabriolet in India, Priced at Rs. 44.75 Lakh
Audi has officially announced the highly anticipated A3 Cabriolet in India at Rs. 44.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and has likely become one of the affordable cabriolets in India. The Audi A3 Cabriolet will only be available in petrol variant, making it the third cabriolet model in the country after Porsche Boxster and Mini Cooper.
The A3 Cabriolet sports a retractable soft top, which can be deployed even when the car is moving at a speed of up to 50kmph. Under the hood, the car is powered by a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol unit that can deliver 177bhp and 280Nm of torque. Powering the front wheels is the seven speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Barring the soft-top, the car looks quite similar to its sedan counterpart, and shares most of its components and features. In fact, both cars share the same interiors as well.
The Audi A3 Cabriolet costs almost twice the sedan model as it is brought as a completely built-up unit (CBU) to India, contrary to the A3 sedan which is locally assembled here. Meanwhile, the company is also planning to launch its hatchback model of the A3 in India, projected around the first half of 2015.
