Mahindra Recalls 2,300 Units of its Popular SUVs

India’s top SUV manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has recalled 2,300 units of its popular SUVs and MPVs. These vehicles include Scorpio, XUV500 along with the multi-purpose Xylo. The reason stated for the same is that these units need repair of a faulty vacuum pump in engines manufactured in May 2014. The company has issued a statement saying that customers will be contacted by the company facing this issue. The replacement will be offered by the Indian automobile manufacturer free of cost.

“The inspection is limited to approximately 2,300 vehicles of Scorpio (Vlx/Sle/Lx), XUV500 W4/w6/W8 and Xylo H9/H8/H4 variants”, said Mahindra and Mahindra. The homegrown automaker had recalled around 23,000 units of the Scorpio SUV earlier this year to repair defective pressure valves.

This year, it’s not just Mahindra, several other manufacturers including Maruti Suzuki, Ford, Honda and General Motors have recalled their popular products to rectify issues. Honda India recently recalled 2,338 units of Brio Hatchback, Amaze compact sedan along with the popular CR-V sports utility vehicle in relation to faulty airbags. Even Nissan recalled 9,000 units of Micra and Sunny as a result of faulty airbags.
