Mahindra & Mahindra Brings Out its Adventure Variant, Thar

Mahindra Thar is one of the coolest and the most badass vehicles released till date. It is the weapon of choice for the hardcore off-roaders. It is for folks who would rather feel the dirt instead of sitting comfortably inside the air-conditioned interior. It also retains the rugged look of the classic Jeep which says, ‘bring it on’ to any terrain.

Mahindra & Mahindra is now bringing out the Mahindra Thar called the Adventure Edition, which will be a 30 units limited edition of this tough SUV. The Adventure version will be available only in CRDe Trim; seems like the company really wants to take it into the wild and get it dirty. The vehicle will come in Java brown colour with some sweet graphic decals.

Most of the upgrades on this edition are cosmetic, but they do look great. It features tail lamp protectors, chaff screen, seat covers with black and orange stitching, extended wheel arches, molded floor mats and new centre console. This edition also adds 2D map support along with a compass.

Under the hood, the model is powered by a 2498cc motor that churns out a healthy 105PS of power and 247Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. To give efficient off-roading thrills, the vehicle comes with a manual BorgWarner’s low reduction gear and a four-wheel-drive transfer case. Also, the ground clearance on this Thar is 200mm.

Even though it’s a limited edition offering, the Adventure Edition of Thar is not going to cost a bomb either. It is expected to sell at around Rs. 40,000 above the price of the regular CRDe variant of the car, which is a good decision by the company.
