Fiat to Launch Avventura Crossover in India this Month, Followed by Abarth

Fiat is planning to launch the highly awaited hatchback – the Avventura cross-over. It is expected to hit the roads in October 2014.

Dubbed as a‘contemporary urban vehicle’ (CUV), the Avventura cross-over has been designed in Italy bearing in mind the Indian road conditions. It is expected to cost around Rs. 6-8 lakh and will be offered in petrol and diesel variants. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India Operations President and Managing Director Nagesh Basavanhalli, said the Avventura has “both a rugged feel of an off-roader and for city use and best-in-class clearance with several features as standard.”

The Avventura might also come in an automatic variant along with the regular manual transmission. Reports suugest that the Crossover will be powered by a 1.4 litre FIRE Petrol engine, meanwhile the diesel variant will be powered by a 1.3 litre multi-jet engine. The overall design of the vehicle is quite spruced up with multi utility roof rails on top.

The crossover has ample legroom and headroom, has new projector headlights, roof rails, exposed spare wheel while interior features roll and tilt guges and contraxt stiching. Taking inspiration from the Punto hatchback, the crossover has more ground clearence with a bigger and fatter wheel base, making it appropriate for Indian roads.

Meanwhile, there are also reports of the Abarth 500 hatchback launch in November. It has a 1.4-liter, turbocharged, 4 pot petrol engine and comes loaded with a slew of other features. Reports suggest that the Fiat Abarth 500 will be priced between Rs.22-24 lakh.
